The We're Funny that Way Foundation
Maggie's always had this bizarre drive to give money away to queer charities. Unfortunately, Maggie's never had the actual chequeing account to back up that bizarre drive. Sooooooooo, since the day she put on her first production somewhere in some hall in some basement/unitarian meeting house/JCC/community centre, there's almost always been a charity component present.  Eventually the productions became almost solely for charity. Then one day, at a meeting for yet another fundraiser, a straight guy named Ian, who's always helped out, looked her in the eye and said "why don't you start a foundation?" Hello, duh. And that's how the we're funny that way foundation was born. A foundation designed to support queer charities across Canada. Maggie would like to say she thought of it herself but she didn't. But she is pleased as punch that they're up and running and working on their website and finding new ways to build a foundation she's fondly taken to calling "United Gay".
